Thinking about starting out here

Hey, as you see from the tags, im new player thinking about starting out here, can someone give me a gist how the experience looks here for fresh player as I suppose majority of the people are already max level with multiple sets, probably with pocket clerics and so on.

So my question is how bad is it really?
