How actually GP from siege works?

Hi,

Please can anyone explain how GP works from siege?
I go Gelkmaros siege on ally 1 from league, kill gate, mobs, tower, boss and get 25 gp. Other time i go solo with no group, do not hit either gate or mobs and get late on boss with 10% and get 75 gp. This shows it is not about personal contribuition.
On Katalam i do the defense, stay at gate 5 minutes helping ally killing ppl and get nothing. Other time i died at beggining, did nothing and got 125.
I really do not understand the logic. Is it random?

I totally agree with you — I’ve noticed the same inconsistency.

I play as a Cleric, and what confuses me the most is how individual contribution is actually calculated. As a support class, I spend most of the siege healing, cleansing debuffs, and keeping people alive rather than dealing damage or getting kills.

So how does the system recognize support contribution? Is healing, dispel, or assisting allies properly counted toward GP rewards?

Because from my experience, I can do basically the exact same actions in different sieges and sometimes get decent GP, while other times I get almost nothing — even though my participation felt identical.

Does anyone know if there is a clear formula or priority system behind this? Or is it really as inconsistent as it seems?

Ranking at siege is decided by the amount of AP you gain WITHIN the contribute zones (both you and the target MUST be inside, otherwise it doesnt count)
This calc is done individually and that means if you are in a group or in an alliance every AP gained from a player or object killed will be shared with all the group/alliance member in range.
To make an example, if you kill a player which give you 1k AP as solo but you're in an alliance of 10 ppl you will gain 100 AP from it, and thats your personal contribution which will be comparated with all other player of the same class youre playing which made contribution aswell (ask gunners how much competition they have :D).
Also consider this: an npc/kill/boss count 10x times a PvP kill (on our server 99% of npc doesnt give AP anymore btw, only special npc of opposite faction which spawn sometimes and balaurs from dredgion spawns counts atm, in short: it gives you AP and its in contrib zone? it counts.) which means if you're attacking a fortress you want to get the higgest amount from the gate and from the boss, to make another example: if you kill the gate and get 400 ap you get the same contribution amount you would get from a PvP kill which gave you 4k AP.
And there you would think: ok so I still can do PvP only and get rank 1. No. Our AP limit system with a ridiculous limit will ruin your entire siege.
On defense fortress you want to get the best amount on PvP since (beside dredgion and special npcs I mentioned before) theres no object to kill to gain contribution, and also there you have to balance the amount of AP you gain from every fortress to not being in the situation where you did A LOT of contribution in a fortress but your AP gain is locked so you cant do contribution in other ones (this is typically the case of MKK siege)

And thats it.
Also: ranking spots are limited and that means you may have done a lot of AP and still get a lower rank you expected because many other players of your class did more than you, reason why ppl is running AP boosts at siege.
If you are asking, yes. This system is bad af for a mmorpg since forces you to go solo or duo maximum to get max ranking instead of promote group playing.

Thank you very much for your attention and explanation! For me the worst part to understand is why i go sometimes and kill 10% boss and get a lot and why the game for itself and we are lost on this.

Reason is quite simple. Sometimes you get more and sometimes less because of your class.
Sm is the class with most issues when it comes to get contrib due to his gameplay based 80% on dmg from dots which get easily covered by other sms or simply get whiped out beause the boss has too much debuffs on it.
Also counts how many sm are there when you get to the boss and how much dmg they did before you.
To fix your situation just spam skills like ritual push/vacuum choke/weaken spirit/any skill which is not a dot (the only one you can abuse is erosion due to his low cd and the fact that the very 1st hit does more dmg). Pet skills works good too,even better if tempest/magma.

if  you are cleric go on dps and thats all :)

I play cleric (dps) and never go on group/ally  for this reason
