Any class is accepted in Sauro, standard group is a х1 healer and х3 damage dealers (usually four players form groups). Yes, there's no point in taking two SM's, because they cancel each other's damage. But situations where you can't join a party because of you will be second SM are so rare.

All classes are strong in their own way, in some situations less, in others more SM and Gunner are more comfortable solo, unlike Templar and Chanter, who often need a group to reach their full potential. Due to the ease of the class, gunner can be a great choice for a beginner.
